BIRTH, EARLY LIFE AND CONVERSION: Born on a farm in the State of Missouri. Moved to Florida at age of two.   Parents were Christians. Father was an itinerant preacher and an electrician by trade.  Lived most of my “growing up” years in Tampa.   Became very wayward as a teenager, but when a senior in high school God dealt with me in a very graphic way. On Sunday evening, November 2, 1958 I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.   Also answered the call to gospel ministry   (particularly to preach and teach the Word of God) at the same time. Upon graduating from high school, I entered Bible College to prepare for ministry:

GOSPEL MINISTRY: While in Bible college I ministered in churches, helped start a Christian camp and was active in other ministries. After graduating from Bible College, I entered “full-time” ministry. Though that ministry for 37 years was primarily pastoral, the Lord gave me a number of other avenues of serving Him. I was always heavily involved in the area of missions as the following will show: Background Experience:

  • Began preaching ministry while finishing Bible College in 1962.
  • Began “fulltime” pastoral ministry in 1965.
    • Pastored churches in Florida, Georgia and New Brunswick, Canada prior to coming to central Pennsylvania 28 years ago.
    • Pastored last church 17 ½ years.
    • Also have experience in teaching Bible and history in a Christian School.
    • Worked with youth ministries including Christian Camps (helped start a camp in the state of Maine in 1963 which is operational today).
  • Preached on church TV program 7 years + a number of years on radio.
  • Did extensive pastoral counseling.
  • Have ministered in family camps, married couple’s retreats & seminars.
  • Have been heavily involved in missions…including trips to India, Africa, Australia, Chile and Uruguay, interim pastor in Aruba in 2010, and pastored in Canada for 6 years. Served 14 years on an international mission board + served 1½ years as Director of Development/Pastoral Ministries.

** July, 2004 – founded Biblical Truth Ministries (now an affiliate of Way of Truth Ministries.)

  • Since 2004 and currently: Vice President of Way of Truth Ministries (which includes Way of Truth Baptist Mission – an international mission.), director of educational ministries at WOTM through 2008.  Also Staff Missionary/Evangelist for Way of Truth (Altoona, PA.); For several years directed and taught a Bible Institute.
  • Currently a chaplain on the chaplaincy corps of the Northern York County Regional Police, York County, PA.
  • During the past several years (2005 – 2011) I ministered in churches, retreats & conferences  as far south as Bradenton, FL and north to Nova Scotia, Canada and did pulpit supply and/or interim pastoral ministry in five different churches.

PRESENT MINISTRY: As you perhaps noted, I (and my wife) founded Biblical Truth Ministries (which is a faith based ministry). It is a ministry which interfaces with Way of Truth Ministries (Altoona, PA).

Way of Truth Ministries is on a number of radio stations…including 2 worldwide; has a printing ministry; a counseling ministry; a trucker’s ministry and Way of Truth Baptist Mission, which works with nationals in several West African countries and India. It also is establishing Bible Institutes and has a burden for planting churches abroad and in rural America.

My ministry is involved in all of the above…strictly by faith, trusting God to send in the needed support. Since I am both a pastor and a missionary at heart and in calling and since I am local church oriented…and since God has given me a wide range of experience, I have a ministry applicable to both the local church and to missions at home and abroad. I have ministered in and am available for:

  • General preaching ministry.
  • Bible Conference ministry.
  • Prophetic Conferences
  • Pastor’s and Men’s retreats.
  • Missionary Conference and emphasis meetings.
  • Pulpit supply.
  • Interim Pastoral ministry.
  • Married couples’ retreats, seminars, banquets, etc.
  • Revival meetings.

As in any missionary endeavor, I must raise my own support and present my ministry when possible. However, I also come to churches and minister to their current need on an honorarium or freewill offering basis.

It may also be noted that my wife is a trained and gifted organist and on occasion travels with me. Sometimes we do a combination ministry during which I speak and she does a “mini” organ concert. She is also at times available for full organ concerts.

My doctrinal position: is fundamental; emphasis is local church; and doctrine and practice is that of Independent Baptist (a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Mechanicsburg, PA).  I am not part of nor do I ecclesiastically participate with the following movements: Charismatic/Pentecostal, Ecumenical or Neo-evangelical. In my speaking ministry I use the KJV Bible. My preaching and teaching ministry is expositional, challenging, exhorting and evangelistic. For some applications (such as retreats and prophetic conferences) I use power point presentations.
